Lush Cheshire boasts some of the nation’s poshest postcodes and is one of the 10th wealthiest places in the UK to live.  It’s prestigious houses in leafy villages  pleasant countryside, closeness to cities like Manchester and Liverpool and first class communications , have helped it attract an abundance of famous footballers, celebrities and entrepreneurs. Some areas are said to have more millionaires than almost anywhere else in the country .


Thelwall boarders the village of Lymm which last year was featured  in the Sunday Times Best Places To Live in Britain list. The guide combines data and statistics such as crime rates, house prices and school performance, along with attractive outdoor spaces, good local shops and services and a positive community spirit.


 Thelwall itself has plenty going for it.  Best known for the Thelwall Viaduct – which carries the M6 motorway across the Manchester Ship Canal – it is stepped in history and is believed to have been established in 923 during the reign of King Edward the Elder .The village lies between the Manchester Ship Canal and the Bridgewater Canal.


It contains a designated English Heritage National Monument and a conservation area, lots of canal walks and  an attractive village centre. It also boasts two schools, a church, numerous pubs and restaurants, its own parish council, a Morris dancing team and an amateur dramatic group.


It is close to the M6/M56/M62  motorways and Manchester and Liverpool airports are around 30 minutes away. The market towns of Knutsford, Altrincham and Northwich  are on its doorstep.
